PATRIOTISM DOESN'T COME WITH A POLITICAL PARTY

Here we are, it’s almost America's 250th birthday and what a pretty incredible milestone it is.

Two hundred and fifty years. We've survived wars, depressions, political scandals, pandemics, and much more.

Yet somehow, in 2026, we've reached a point where some people seem to think patriotism comes with political affiliation.

If you don't support Donald Trump, apparently you don't love America.

Really? So let me ask the question...

Am I still allowed to put an American flag in my yard this Fourth of July if I think Donald Trump is a terrible president and an even worse human being?

The answer is fuck yea.

Our nations flag doesn't belong to Donald Trump.

It doesn't belong to Democrats. It doesn't belong to Republicans. It belongs to all of us.

Somewhere along the line, a lot of people confused patriotism with loyalty to one man.

America has been through a lot worse than this, at least I think it has, because having Donald Trump who literally shits his pants at important summits with world leaders as your president is pretty fucking awful.

We've had deeply unpopular presidents before and we’ve pressed forward and united.

We'll manage this, too…I hope.

One day, MAGA will be another chapter in an American history book.

There's something wild about celebrating our nation's 250th birthday during one of the most politically divided times in modern history. Birthdays aren't about pretending life has always been perfect. It’s about surviving to see another year.

So yes, this Fourth of July I'll put the flag out in my yard and wait to watch my cats tweak out at the first sound of fireworks.

I'll probably hear one neighbor set theirs off three days early because apparently calendars are optional now.

I'll celebrate America even if I’m disappointed in it’s leadership and think our president is dumb as fuck because I believe in the idea of America that our founding fathers fought so hard to achieve and I believe this country, like it always has, will eventually find its footing again.

We've made it 250 years and I'm betting on America making it another 250.
