IT'S TIME FOR THE NFL TO FINALLY MOVE ON FROM ANYTHING PRO BOWL RELATED
That is all.
Seriously though.
This past week, I saw a headline that Shedeur Sanders was named to the Pro Bowl. That’s it. That’s the last straw.
Once upon a time, the Pro Bowl was an actual football game. Competitive. Physical. Real enough to feel like something, but I get why that version died. Guys shouldn’t be sacrificing their bodies for an all-star game in an era of massive contracts, guaranteed money, and careers that can change on one bad step or hit.
But when the game turned into a Thursday high school football walkthrough practice, that should’ve been the end.
Instead, we’ve doubled down on the spectacle. It’s turned into a circus with carnival games and sideshow events, goofy challenges, and flag football. It’s a slap in the face to the game, the fans, and anything football-related.
If the NFL wants to honor players, do it with awards, All-Pro teams, bonuses, and actual recognition that means something.
But the “Pro Bowl” and all the games, events, all of it…needs to be done.
Everything about it.
