THE REAL HALFTIME SHOWDOWN: TURNING POINT VS. THE PUPPY BOWL
Numbers don’t lie. While Kid Rock spouted off that his Turning Point halftime show, taking on the NFL halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, was David vs. Goliath, the reality is it was Robert James Ritchie vs. Boba the dog.
Nobody sane thought Turning Point’s alternative halftime would realistically rival the Super Bowl halftime featuring the most-streamed musical artist of 2025.
Turning Point pulled it off, even if it did look like it was being produced by a student-run production of a local high school Turning Point branch. Their alternative halftime show peaked at around 6 million concurrent views on YouTube. I can’t really rag on that with my 32 YouTube subscribers who tune in to watch me juggle and roast MAGA.
Though strong numbers, they didn't even put a dent in the Super Bowl numbers, and that’s where the comedy writes itself, because the last official Puppy Bowl audience number out there is about 12.8 million total viewers.
So the actual matchup was Turning Point vs. the Puppy Bowl.
Ritchie vs. Boba (a dog).
And guess who was left picking up the shit.
Turning Point and their Klanchella concert got outdone by a bunch of puppies in tiny jerseys.
No shame in trying, Turning Point, but the reality of everything is that it was Turning Point vs. Animal Planet, and the puppies ran the scoreboard.
*The Turning Point stream on YouTube has since reached over 20 million views. The curiosity factor?
