THE MAGA AUNT WHO STILL THINKS OBAMA IS NOT AMERICAN

Every family has one, and chances are, many of us non-Cult 47 members will have to deal with one or two of them in the coming days, with the Holidays fast approaching.

You know exactly who I am talking about.

That one aunt or uncle who’s so out of touch with reality that they're treating the downfall of democracy and the values that this country was founded on like it’s a comedy. I get it, this administration is literally one big reality TV show.

Look, people can disagree on policy. I’ve said it a hundred times that I don’t have anything against conservative values. I’ve got conservative friends and family, and I enjoy civil conversation with them.

But MAGA isn’t about being a Republican or a conservative.

MAGA is a cult of personality with merch.

As a fan of history, I’ve always wondered how someone like Hitler could gain so much power. It has always baffled me, but fast-forward to the last nine years, and the answer has emerged.

The dumb stuff exists on both sides. Democrats absolutely helped hand over the House and the presidency by turning away independents on issues like trans athletes competing in women’s sports and the perception that they didn’t take border enforcement seriously enough.

But here’s the difference: being wrong on a policy issue is one thing. Normalizing narcissism and chaos within an entire administration is another.

Here’s where my aunt comes in. She lived in Arizona for years, and apparently, her brain got fried to the point she started confusing cruelty with comedy.

Because every time I post something easy to verify, her response isn’t a rebuttal. It isn’t even a coherent argument. It’s a laugh reaction.

In her fried brain, none of this is real, none of it matters, and the country being embarrassed on the world stage is just “triggering the libs,” so it must be hilarious.

Tell me again why it’s funny that we’re the laughing stock of the rest of the world.

Here is a short laundry list of stuff that Trump has done to embarrass himself in recent days:

• Rob Reiner’s killing turned into a political self-centered moment.

• A “Presidential Walk of Fame” inside the White House, complete with petty plaques and insults.

• The Kennedy Center name change controversy.

And that’s what people mean when they say “narcissist.” It’s not a random insult. It’s a description of a person whose first and only instinct is to redirect the spotlight back onto themselves.

So when I post “Here is a lie and here is the proof,” and your response is a laugh, what you’re really saying is:

• “I don’t care if it’s true.”

• “I don’t care if it harms anyone.”

• “I just like that it upsets you.”

• “I want politics to be entertainment, not responsibility.”

It’s exhausting to care about your country and get mocked by family for caring.

It’s exhausting to watch people treat “owning the libs” like a life purpose.

Bring an argument. Be an adult. I don’t laugh when you post about DOGE checks and Obama not being American.

But if your only contribution is “LOL,” then you’re not part of a political conversation. You’re part of the problem.

You think it’s funny that I get mad that Trump has spent more time making the Oval Office look like trash than he has fixing America’s affordability issue, which you think is a hoax because your leader told you such.

So laugh at this…..go fuck yourself with your red hat.
