SO, I GUESS I’M A SNOWFLAKE

In recent days, I've seen a post floating around social media discussing the uniqueness of individual snowflakes, but how strong they are when combined.

This is where the Democratic Party finds itself today.

As democracy is being challenged by a 78-year-old, tanned, overweight, compulsive lying narcissist who more than likely can’t control his bodily functions anymore and his administration that resembles a fraternity more than the leadership of what is supposed to be the leading nation of the free world, now is time for those who still believe in democracy to band together, organize, and speak up for what you believe in.

How did we get to this point where not only is our economy in the tank because of the actions of one guy acting outside the constraints of the Constitution, but our freedoms as we know them are in serious doubt, and let’s not forget we’ve turned our backs on many of our top allies while being forced to watch our leader openly worship dictators from around the world to the point that I do not doubt in my mind that he would spit his dentures out and perform felatio on Putin if given the opportunity.

What is the focus of Trump’s second administration, which can probably safely be referred to as a regime at this point? I’d say golfing is priority one, closely followed by acting like a bully threatening to make Canada our 51st State, taking back the Panama Canal with the use of military force if needed, and again bringing up using the military to take over Greenland.

Through the golfing, threatening, and sideshow press conferences in the Oval Office, Trump has at least managed to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico, which has stood since 1550, to the Gulf of America, a name change that practically no one of real importance is recognizing as official.

During his campaign for the 2016 election, Donald Trump ran on the platforms of Making America Great Again (MAGA) and building the wall to secure our country’s borders. The border issue became a focal point for many voters and probably did the Democrats no favors with the lack of border security during the Biden administration, along with the total disregard for what could be a Title XI violation in transgender athletes participating in women's athletics, something that anybody with common sense should have spoken up against regardless of party affiliation.

Knowing that his chances of reelection with the MAGA movement pinning him as demented, and flooded with illegal immigrants and migrants, it became apparent long before he decided to withdraw from the 2024 Presidential Election. For his part, Biden needed to step away long before the Democratic National Convention to allow the party to organize and let the voters decide who the best candidate would be to defeat Trump.

In Kamala Harris’s defense, she ran a good campaign on short notice. She dominated the only debate Trump would agree to. She raised huge sums of money in her little time campaigning, and her policies made sense. However, she was the one put in charge of the border by Biden, only to make light of the situation when asked about visiting the southern border, and that wasn’t a good look to the bi-partisan voters.

For Democrats to win back control of the government, they need to become more moderate and realize issues such as transgender athletes and border security are issues that many independent voters are passionate about. As much as I can’t stand the extreme MAGA movement, the extreme left is just as guilty as being so far on the other side of the spectrum in this pissing war between the MAGA party and the Democrat party.

Unlike the extreme right, however, the extreme left does not show traits of being in a cult and believing whatever lie their leader spews out of his false teeth that are about as white as his Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth's white pride.

The tide is starting to turn. MAGA is only so strong, and right now it’s beginning to weaken to the point that it’s comparable to Stephen Miller’s arms, and the Democrats need to do some soul searching during this time. Quit pointing out what the Trump administration is doing wrong because anyone with half their brain cells left can figure that out on their own.

Instead, I want the Democratic leaders to tell me their plan as we head into midterms……How can we regain the trust of our allies? How can we mend relationships with our top trade partners? What is the plan to bring jobs that people want into America without it being a tax on your constituents?

So, if siding with democracy makes me a snowflake, then be it. I'd rather be labeled as such any day over being labeled as a "Patriot" or a "Proud Boy," but being a snowflake doesn’t come without knowing that the Democratic Party has many faults that they need to figure out moving forward.
