NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE RED OR BLUE - SOMETIMES IT’S JUST COMMON SENSE
I’m not trying to be political. I know the moment I open my mouth or post something that even hints at a political opinion, I lose 50 percent of the room. Half tune me out, or get mad, or start throwing labels on me. Whatever label fits best in the moment, but here’s the thing, I’m not trying to wear any of those labels. I’m a moderate. And that’s not fence-sitting. That’s not indecisive. That’s being someone who can hold more than one thought in their head at a time.
I do have some conservative views. I want a secure border. I believe in common-sense policies that include saying no to things like transgender athletes competing in women’s sports. At the same time, I believe the planet is worth saving. I want cleaner energy. I want smarter innovation. I want to see progress that doesn’t poison the earth our kids will inherit.
That doesn’t mean I buy everything being sold. I’m skeptical of electric vehicles. Not because I hate Tesla or think oil is life, but because I’ve done enough reading to know the production and disposal of massive lithium batteries isn’t exactly clean. Where do they go when they’re dead? What’s the cost to harvest the materials? We can’t pat ourselves on the back for progress if we’re just shifting the damage to another corner of the world.
My problem, and the reason I speak up, is that I want a government that works for the people. Not for billionaires. Not for lobbyists. Not for whoever yells the loudest on social media. Just for regular people. People like me who want to go to work, help raise their kid, enjoy their lives, and not have to feel like they need to choose between two extremes just to have a say.
With that said, the Trump administration is a three-ring circus, and look no further than the newly erected tent they call Alligator Alcatraz. That’s not some radical opinion. That’s just an observation. The individuals in key positions are not effective leaders. They are sycophants. Bootlickers. Career opportunists are capitalizing on being on FOX News. That’s not how you run a country. That’s not how you earn trust, and the worst part is how normalized this chaos has become.
I want normalcy back and boring competence. I want someone in the Oval Office who doesn’t confuse yelling with leadership, and honestly, I don’t want another geriatric president. I’m tired of watching our highest office turn into a retirement community battle. The most powerful job in the world shouldn’t be held by someone who needs help finding the stage exit.
This isn’t about right or left. It’s about right or wrong. It’s about wanting a government that’s grounded, rational, and functional. If that makes me political, fine, but I’m not doing it to score points. I’m doing it because I care, and if more people who feel like me spoke up, maybe things wouldn’t feel so upside down right now.
