BEING TRASH IS A BEHAVIOR, NOT A BANK ACCOUNT BALANCE
The word “trash” gets thrown around a lot, usually with “trailer” or “white” attached to it, but to me, trash has nothing to do with your social status, where you live, or how much money you’ve got in your bank account. Trash is behavior. It’s how you carry yourself and how you treat public spaces.
If I see you smoking a cigarette in your car? Fine. That’s your choice. But if I see you smoking in the car with kids in it, you’re trash. If you flick your cigarette out the window while you’re driving, guess what? You’re trash. Not because you smoke, but because you’re selfish enough to treat the world like your personal ashtray.
Same thing with politics. I don’t judge people for their political beliefs. So you didn’t like Joe Biden? I’m OK with that, as that’s your opinion. As a centrist independent who leans left, he wasn’t always my cup of tea either, but if you drive your truck around with a giant sticker that says “FUCK JOE BIDEN”, you’re trash. Not because of who you voted for, but because you decided that vulgarity is the best way to get your point across for all, including children, to read.
And nothing sums it up better than the Fourth of July. People gather in parking lots to watch fireworks, bring snacks and drinks, have a great time, and then leave all their garbage behind like it’s someone else’s job to clean up after them. To me, you’re trash if you do that.
And honestly, the list goes on forever, in my opinion, but those are a few points I wanted to highlight, because if I’m going to name the number one trash move of all, it’s simple: if you’re a man and you hit a woman, you’re one of the biggest pieces of trash there is. No excuses.
Because at the end of the day, money doesn’t make you classy, and not having money doesn’t make you trash. How you act does.
